Position: Content Writer/Editor

Position Reports to:  Communications Specialist

Location: Delhi NCR

Assignment Length: Yearly contract, extendable subject to availability of funds 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PopulationCouncil Consulting is seeking to recruit a well-experienced Content Writer/Editor for supporting and creating a state-of-the-art learning hub. PCC has been recently awarded the Learning Hub project by USAID India. USAID/India’s Learning Hub project has comprehensive goals aimed at improving knowledge acquisition and learning within and across its health programs. The project seeks to support USAID and their partners to enhance data analysis and documentation, increase program efficiency, and strengthen decision-making processes using data- driven insights. The project will provide insights and foster learning through collaboration and dissemination of the findings, successes, and knowledge gained from its health programs to a wide audience. The Learning Hub will also build the capacity of key Indian research organizations and individuals to expand and institutionalize local measurement and data analysis capabilities in the health sector, aligning with USAID’s commitment to localization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of the Content Writer/Editor include the following.

Develop content for the learning hub in co-coordination with external partners and internal team members.

Generate quality output by ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all media platforms.

Collaborate with SPOC in partner organisations to access content and synthesise to produce meaningful/engaging knowledge assets that are in consonance with brand voice/style guides and donor’s specifications.

Produce stakeholder specific collaterals including briefs, reports, documents, infographics, stories from the field, best practices, social media posts in suitable formats such as word, power point etc.

Optimize content for digital platforms for search engine rankings.

Stay up to date on sectoral trends, experts’ opinions, best practices around health programs and policies, related to content creation and management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post Graduate Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in content writing/editing, copywriting, or similar role.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

ATTRIBUTES

Excellent writing and editing skills, preferably on health programs and policies.

Possess good command over English language, detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

Ability to produce content suitable for various channels and stakeholder specific. 

Ability to work with multiple partners and a good team player.

Experience of working on projects related to gender and/or social inclusion is desirable.

Experience of using content management system and SEO will be an added advantage.
