Job Description

• Qualified with ANM degree from any recognized institution. Must have minimum 1 year experience with a field level health programme.
• Should have a good communication skill and proficient to work with computers and smart phone application.
• The ANM is responsible for taking up individual and group sessions on HIV , STIs , Safer sex and Safer injecting behaviour, prevention of abscess, overdose prevention , Oral Substitution Therapy , Drug Treatment options etc.
• Shall also engage in Family counselling
• Responsible for motivating clients for regular General Medical Check , referral to ICTC , STI and ART clinics.
• The ANM shall look into the counselling requirement of female sex partners and spouses of Injecting Drug Users and motivate them to avail HIV related services as and when required .
• The ANM would be responsible for management of the clinic especially record keeping , management of patient flow , visit to the clinic sites and dispensing of medicine .
• The ANM alongwith the Outreach worker should prepare plan to improve linkage .
• The ANM alongwith the Accountant , Project Manager would ensure timely reporting of condom stocks , OST medicine stocks , STI and other general medicine stocks to State AIDS Prevention and Control Society and Team Support Unit .
• The ANM should participate in site validation process and update the site validation and quarterly line listing of High risk Groups ( Injecting Drug Users) of the project alomgwith M&E Accountant.
• Ensure collection of used needles and syringes and bio medical waste management as per required guideline
• Ensure disposal of clinic or health camp wastes as per guideline .
• The ANM should travel 10-12 days in a month to the project sites for providing
• services in the field .
• Maintain records - patient register, follow up register , condom stock and issue register, needle syringe stock and issue register, referral cards or any other document as required by the project .
• The ANM should report to the Project Manager .
