Hand in Hand, India: Job description for Project Manager - HMF PROJECT (based at Sirsa, Haryana, India).

Hand in Hand (HiH), India, is a public charitable trust working to alleviate rural poverty through an integrated process of promoting education, skill development, job creation, health, environment and holistic community development. Having started its operations on a humble scale in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu in 2002, the organization has now expanded its work across 17 States of India and its model of ‘job creation’ replicated in over 8 countries across the globe through its partners.

The 5 pillars or work areas of the organization are as follows:
i)Child Labour Elimination and Promotion of Education
ii)Self Help Groups and Microfinance for Livelihoods promotion and job creation
iii)Skill Development and Technology Centres for bridging the skill gap
iv)Health for preventive healthcare and awareness generation;
v)Environment for promoting a clean and hygienic environment through solid waste management and natural resource management.

Additionally, a flagship programme of the organization, the village uplift programme aims to create sustainable communities by integrating all 5 pillar activities of the organization in a village.

With a dedicated team of over 1,188 employees, the organization is steadily moving towards achieving its mission of creating 10 million jobs by 2025.

PROJECT MANAGER, HMF PROJECT (based at Sirsa, Haryana).

In order to promote women empowerment and enterprise development amongSHGs, by providing integrated training and value added support for enterprise across 13 villages of Punjab and Haryana (near Guru Gobind Singh refinery, Phullokhari, Bathinda, Punjab), HiH India is looking for a competent and committed person to lead, oversee and coordinate this Project.

Key Responsibilities:
1.To plan, implement and coordinate achievement of HiH India’s HMEL Project goals.
2.To form SHGs by mobilizing women, Bank account opening and strengthening their capacities with training in integrated aspects of SHG Management.
3.To provide training on Savings, Financial Literacy and Enterprise Motivation and Development.
4.To provide Refresher Training on SHG management, book keeping, documentation and enterprise development management.
5.To provide integrated training and value added support for effective SHG management; improved capacity building and enterprise development
6.To provide holistic support to establish new enterprises with up-skilling, enterprise management, finance management, documentation and market linkages.
7.To provide value added integrated support to SHG women to strengthen existing enterprises with support of up-skilling; business management, finance management, market linkages, exposure visits and enterprise documentation.
8.To develop a strong and robust system of regular field visits, monitoring field activities, project reviews, MIS and documentation (including weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports etc).
9.To conduct a baseline and an end line study of the Project
10.To manage a team of professionals and field staff

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.He /She should be a Post-Graduate in Social Sciences /MBA/Social-Work from a recognized University.
2.He/ She should have a working experience of 8-10 years in the development sector.
3.He/ She should have a good understanding of integrated aspects of SHG concept, skill Development, market linkages, financial inclusion, employability and entrepreneurship.
4.He /She should have good documentation and communication skills, in Hindi, Punjabi and English.
5.He/ She should have good networking skills and be able to meet stakeholders’ esp. the Government and be able to forge partnerships and alliances.
Remuneration will be in the range of Rs 7-8 lakh per annum, depending upon the skills and qualifications of the candidate.
