About the Organisation

One in every 50, over 26 million individuals in India has Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD). In spite of this colossal number, they are stigmatized and are considered less deserving and are unable to access the resources that they need to achieve their full potential. Within the disabilities space, IDD seems to be the most invisible. They continue to be excluded from India’s mainstream development narrative, experiencing widespread violations of their rights.

Founded in 1944, we are one of the oldest & largest not for profit institutes in India serving children & adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Over the past 77 years, we have touched the lives of lakhs of children & their families. We are committed to looking at each child with a belief in their potential to lead fuller and more inclusive lives.

We serve over 700 Individuals annually who have IDD and may have other related disabilities such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, visual &/or hearing impairment. We have our campus in Mumbai and rural branches at Deolali & Talegaon.

Over 76% of our students belong to the lower socioeconomic strata. We have no minimum IQ requirement & till date no one has been turned away for their inability to afford our services.

Job Role: SR. EXECUTIVE BRAND AND COMMUNICATION

Reporting: Head - Brand and Communication

Summary: The Sr. Executive will be responsible for assisting in all Jai Vakeel Foundation’s internal and external communications. S/he will help manage the dissemination of information on behalf of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with Development of effective communication strategies.
Ensure Jai Vakeel Foundation’s marketing and communication content is strong, consistent and aligns with organisation values.
Assist in creating campaigns that can showcase Jai Vakeel’s work amongst all stakeholders (parents, communities, donors and employees).
Work closely with the team to devise & execute strategies to build our digital presence – from videos, webinars, to apps, to podcasts.
Work on editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all online & offline marketing material.
Write articles for mass media, organisation websites, annual reports, event invites and award applications.
Identify trends and insights.
Plan, execute and help manage digital and social media by utilising current platforms.
Measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns.
Help identify external opportunities to generate interest and publicity for the organisation’s events and platforms where it’s work can be promoted/showcased.
Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners.
Effectively liaison with retail fundraising platforms (Give India, Giving Tuesday, Aidbees, etc) , design campaigns, reporting to them on project/ beneficiaries supported
Manage stakeholder database in donor management software and work with communication team to effectively reach out to different stakeholders
Develop awareness campaigns to engage with communities

Qualification, Experience and Skills required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree.
Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in communication branding.
Effective understanding of how technology can aid marketing.
Strong grasp of how to create & launch digital products and create a content funnel.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong presentation skills.
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print and videography.
Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro/Final cut and other graphic design software.
Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
Comfortable with Google apps for business - Gmail, Google Drive & Google Calendar
