State Program Manager - Education, Maharashtra

A national level NGO working in the education sector is seeking to hire an experienced program manager to head their program for Maharashtra. The position is based at Maharashtra and leads the state team to manage the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya program in the state that works with 20 to 30 schools in the state with a coverage of nearly 7,000 to 10,000 students of class XI and class XII. The state team will include program staff and volunteers from IITs, NITs and other premium institutions. Key responsibilities include building a collaborative learning environment, driving improvement in student learning outcomes and mentoring members of the state team.

The position will manage the various dimensions of the program implementation including coordinating with the headquarter office on financial and HR aspects as well as for strategic programmatic decisions; developing program budgets and tracking/control of variances; program documentation including routine monitoring reports as well as other documents and reports as may be required; providing programmatic inputs to the fund raising team of the organization and to coordinate as required for donor visits in the field; provide inputs and support, as required, in program monitoring and evaluation etc.

Responsibilities will include building capacity of state team and working with them to strengthen stakeholder relationships, improve classroom facilitation, and ensure adherence to processes for effective implementation of the program. Compensation for the position will be based on previously drawn salary. The overall compensation band is in range of INR 15 lacs per annum.

Candidates with 5 plus years of program management experience and ability to travel to program geographies including rural areas, will be suited to the role. Experience in the education sector and especially in working with secondary schools will be preferred.
