Location: Lucknow 2 Positions

Bangalore: 1 Position

Reports to: Sr. Program Implementation Specialist

Sesame Workshop - India is the Indian arm of Sesame Workshop, the internationally renowned non-profit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street, the pioneering television show that has been reaching and teaching children since 1969. We reach kids in their earliest years to provide them access to life- changing early education, critical health lessons, and helpful tools for tough situations via a combination of television, radio, digital media, mobile technologies, and community outreach across 11 states in India. Since 2006, Sesame Workshop - India has reached children through mass media including Galli Galli Sim Sim, the local version of Sesame Street, and now reaches children with engaging and educational content featuring the beloved Muppets of Sesame Street. About Daddy Cool: Lucknow – Sesame Workshop India is implementing an innovative project, which will directly engage with 150 men (fathers) of 3–8-year-olds in marginalized communities of Lucknow / Bangalore to:

• Deliver content that supports young men (fathers) in exhibiting more positive parenting practices and nurturing interactions with children, with a focus on supporting socio-emotional needs of children.
• Support partners in promoting fathers’ engagement and redefining caregiving as gender neutral.
• Demonstrate improved knowledge and attitudes on role of a father in their child’s well- being, development and in supporting their children’s social-emotional growth.
• Demonstrate improved knowledge amongst children on specific facets of socio-emotional learning.
While the project duration is 12 months, the in-community father-child engagement activities and workshops will be spread over eight months. SWI is looking for two field coordinators, who will:

Scope of Work: Field Coordinators :

(Identify and enroll participants in program :

a. Conduct a short survey to identify participants in identified areas of Lucknow/ Bangalore
b. Enroll fathers in the program as per the parameters provided
c. Get consent from enrolled men, to participate in the program
d. Form groups and schedule of visit to interact with participants
e. Identify spaces where group workshops can be conducted
f. Inform community leaders/other stakeholder to seek permissions as needed

B. Conduct Workshops/ Sessions:

a. Participate in training provided by SWI
b. Prepare schedule for interaction, per participant (one interaction per week, per participant)
c. Based on the content and schedule provided, conduct workshops and sessions with the participants.
These would be in groups and at home
d. Ensure that the workshops are conducted in time, and materials as provided by SWI are distributed to the participants
e. Ensure that the participants contribute to, engage in the social media campaign

C. Monitoring, Reporting, documentation :

a. Provide weekly activity updates in the provided formats
b. Manage inventory of materials and receipt of delivery to participants
c. Provide monthly reports, along with case studies
d. Identify participants for social media story telling/engagement. Coordinate such interactions with media team
e. Provide end of project report/other information as per need

An ideal candidate will have the following :

A. Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, psychology or related field, or additional 3-4 years’ work experience in the field.
2. At least one -two years of working in communities in Lucknow, especially with men in vulnerable communities will be desirable
3. Experience of interacting with community elders, conducting community workshops, activities on rights/gender/education will be an asset

B. Skill & Competencies:

• Ability to manage partners, vendors and be a part of an evolving team.
• If applying for Lucknow then Good knowledge of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
• If applying for Bangalore then Good knowledge of Bangalore.
• Good to deliver quality work on time, as per deadlines. Ability to multitask.
• Highly organized, energetic, motivated, and committed
• Expertise in spoken and written Hindi.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MIS or other database management systems.
• Strong writing skills especially in preparing reports, and presentations.

Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and market .
