Case Worker/Social Worker

Name of the Position: Case Worker/Social Worker (Female candidates preferred)

Location – Kolkata

Reporting To - Aftercare Head

It is currently undertaking a major project on girl’s safety through ground-breaking research, government interventions, prosecution, community programs, rehabilitation programs, technology solutions, and other integrated cross disciplinary interventions that achieve a holistic impact on this problem. Prakruthi is focused on the empowerment of girls and women to live safe and happy lives where they are growing into their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management:
a. Trips to Rural areas for different purposes and assignments like tracing the rescued victims and families or accompany to their home, follow up visits and Social Investigation visits.
b. Accompany and go with the MDU team to the police stations and for rescue operations of the victims of trafficking and other forms of abuse.
c. Stay with the victims in the police station overnight (as per the situation)
d. Accompany rescued victims to the hospitals for medico-legal and to the court for recording statements & testimonies.
e. Accompany victims and family members to police stations for any treat complains.
f. Taking notes and statements of the victims, maintain the report and sending to MDU on timely bases.
g. Maintain detail reports of Aftercare work and activities with MDU.
h. Maintain communication with the supervisors for Aftercare work update and any challenges.

2. Program:
a. Fully understand the victim protection and custody law and procedures.
b. Provide direct assistance to victims in cases in which aftercare services are unable or unwilling to provide by the stakeholders.
c. Provide backstop psychosocial counselling to the rescued victims.
d. Ensure that the victim receives full support and protection which is legally mandate.
e. Monitor the progress of the victims where the services are provided.
f. Monitor the activities and services provided in the government and private shelter homes.

3. Miscellaneous:
a. Carry out additional responsibilities and assignments by the Supervisors.
b. Maintain confidentiality of the organizational information.

Desired Skills & Experience
--Educational qualification in MSW from reputed colleges
--1 to 5 years of experience working closely with women and children
--Hands-on experience with Individual care plan for each victim and report making
--Positive attitude and good team spirit
--Excellent communication skills
