About the organization:

Iswar Sankalpa is a Kolkata based non-profit organization founded in 2007, working towards ensuring holistic wellbeing of persons with psychosocial disabilities who are homeless or live in low resource settings. The organisation provides mental healthcare and social care services to vulnerable persons through a community outreach programme, urban mental health programme, shelter homes for homeless men and women, livelihood programme, reintegration programmes, assisted

community living programme and advocacy efforts with government systems and other stakeholders, to ensure holistic wellbeing and social recovery.

Position: Social Worker

Salary: Rs.20,000/per month (including total PF contribution). Salary is non-negotiable.

Reports to:Project Coordinator (Nayadaur)

Location: Kolkata

Key Responsibilities:

1. Identify new clients; negotiate with them to enroll them in the intervention programs of project NayaDaur.

2. Visit all clients of the assigned field each day to provide food, medicine, hygiene items, and clothes.

3. Ensure Doctor's & counselor's visit in your assigned field.

4. Increase the number and involvement of caregivers in your assigned field.

5. Provide support in identifying and establishing professional relationship with police officials, Govt. health service providers, local NGOs & CBOs, KMC ward councilors, concern Govt. departments to assist clients gain access to education, care, entitlements and support services

6. Motivate clients to be economically active, conduct skill development training and organize supportive employment for them in the community if they are capable and willing.

7. Prepare and maintain clients' report, clients’ register, scale administration report, MIS and fill up LSP sheet every month.

Required skills and qualification:

1. A Bachelor's degree preferably with psychology or social work (BSW), followed by a Master's degree in social work.

2. Minimum 1-2 years hands on experience in the field of social development/ mental health/ community development/community based rehabilitation/ public health/homeless population.

3. Ability to speak fluently in Bengali and Hindi

4. Basic documentation skills in English

5. Basic knowledge of MS Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), internet and email.

6. Willingness to work intensively in marginalized community areas and travel throughout Kolkata.
