Job Description: District Programme Manager
Location: Dholpur ,Rajasthan Magic Bus India Foundation Duration: Full Time
Founded in 1999, Magic Bus works with children and young people living in poverty, in India, taking them from a childhood full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. We equip children and young people in the age group of 12 to 18, with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty. Children on the Magic Bus programme successfully fend off destabilizers such as child marriage and child labour to complete school and become firstgeneration salary earners having secure careers in the organised sector.
Our youth-centered Livelihoods Programme connects the aspirations and potential of young people to available market opportunities. We build their employability skills and map job potential based on individual strengths and mobility. We work with support structures like parents, teachers, the community at large and local government institutions to ensure social, emotional, and economic well-being for all young people living in that area. Our approach mobilises the entire ecosystem available to the child or young person to create transformational change in their lives.
About the Position
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced candidate to lead our dynamic team in the areas of Project Management, Community Engagement, and Government Relations. The position is essentially lead for the Dholpur location overseeing all the programmes both CSR & Institutionally Funded ones. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in successfully managing projects, fostering community relationships, leading teams, handling budgets, overseeing administrative functions, and collaborating with government entities. This position is pivotal in driving the organization's mission and ensuring effective implementation of projects that positively impact the community.
Responsibilities of the District Programme Manager
1. Project Management, Implementation and Monitoring
• Scoping ground level communities and situations for identifying of viable strategies for successful project implementation.
• Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion.
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Monitor project progress using dashboards effectively and adjust as necessary to ensure goals are met.
2. Community mangagement
• Guide the field teams to establish and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders.
• Develop and execute community engagement strategies to enhance the organization's presence and impact.
• Enable field teams to collaborate with community leaders, NGOs, and other partners to address community needs.
3. Team Management
• Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high- performance work environment.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members.
4. Financial Management
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource allocation.
• Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
5. Administration and Logistics Management
• Oversee administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Streamline processes and implement best practices for administrative efficiency.
• Manage office logistics, facilities, and resources.
6. Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, outcomes, and impact.
• Communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies.
7. Government Relationships
• Cultivate positive relationships with government officials and agencies.
• Navigate regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
• Represent the organization in government meetings, advocating for project support and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s in social work, Rural Development or any Social Sciences equivalent.
• 8-10 years or higher number of years of work in managing projects, project
operations out of which at least 5 years of complex operations project management in a leadership role.
Desired Competencies
• Excellent data base/ MIS based project monitoring skills, and using dashboards
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power point Presentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with government processes and regulations
Reporting
The position will report to the Regional Director East, Magic Bus India Foundation
Mobility
The position will involve on an average around 15-20 days or more of travel
