About Kolkata Sanved:

Founded in 2004, Kolkata Sanved (KS) is a women-led organization and pioneer in the field of dance movement therapy (DMT) for promoting holistic well-being and enhancement of quality of life. KS has carved a niche for itself in the field of gender equality, mental health and well-being using DMT. KS works for empowerment of marginalized individuals, including children, adolescent girls, youth & women through DMT and other creative arts.

KS’s Visionis to form a healthy, violence-free,gender-equal, creative society of empowered individuals.

Our Mission is to enhance gender equality and improve mental health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by building an ecosystem for Dance Movement Therapy for social development. We strive to create DMT practitioners, leaders and change-makers in the field, especially from vulnerable& underprivileged communities. In an effort to achieve this, we aim to establish a Centre of Excellence (COE) on Dance Movement Therapy.

Position Overview

Kolkata Sanved is seeking a passionate, results-driven Fundraising Manger with excellent leadership skills and networking abilities to join our team in Kolkata. The fundraising manager will play a crucial role in raising the funds, developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission and programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for building good relationships with prospective donors and clients across multiple sectors, communicating with the broader public and internal teams, delegating tasks, and drawing up plans to ensure annual targets are met.

This position is expected to work as a cooperative team member, providing support as necessary to both peers and subordinates. This position will closely work with Founder Director.

Responsibilities

1) Strategic Leadership

- Develop and implement a fundraising and donor management strategy for Kolkata Sanved

- Leverage Kolkata Sanved's research and evaluation portfolio for fundraising

- Contribute to Kolkata Sanved's organisational development and sustainability strategies

- Establish a donor relationship management protocol for Kolkata Sanved

- Lead and sustain capacity building for fundraising and donor management within Kolkata Sanved.

2) Management and Systems

- Develop, implement and manage collaborative systems for budgeting, proposal development, grant monitoring and donor reporting

- Build and maintain various databases that enable Kolkata Sanved to monitor and evaluate its fundraising efforts

3) External Relations

- Represent Kolkata Sanved at different forums

- Lead, support and implement marketing strategies, campaigns and initiatives

Responsibilities.

• Ensure timely and proper fund flow within the organisation.

• Writing funding proposals and submitting those to potential donors

• Generate Domestic Funds from CSR and High Network Individuals.

• Creating and implementing variety of marketing strategies ,promotional campaigns and comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals

• Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.

• Spot new fundraising opportunities

• Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications, adhering to donor guidelines and deadlines

• Fostering ongoing relationships with donors.

• Providing updates or checking in with regular or recurring supporters.

• Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met.

• Work closely with the finance team to monitor and manage fundraising budgets.

• Collaborate with community partners to expand fundraising opportunities

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor databases.

• Using technology to track donor interactions and contributions

Capacity Building:

• Keeping abreast of trends and best practices in fundraising.

• Seeking professional development opportunities to enhance fundraising skills and knowledge.

Code of Conduct:

• Maintain positive relations with all team members and partner organisations

• Ensure minimal conflict within the organisation; proactively diffuse any tension within the organization

• Adhere to all the policies of Kolkata Sanved.

Required skills and qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or related field

• At least three years of proven experience in fundraising , donor relations, or a related field

• Experience in writing grant proposals, press releases, and fundraising letters.

• Proven experience Budget management and LFA

• Confidence in public speaking

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

• Competence with donor management systems

• Ability to lead and motivate colleagues.

• Strong attention to detail

• Passion for research

• Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning big events

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
