 Job Description:

This is an important role in executing the “Development Strategy” for Vitamin Angels in India, supporting the Development Manager with essential research and analysis, database management, first-level communication and documentation needed to mobilise resources for critical and impactful work in India. This role will also work closely with internal teams - Programs, Communications, Admin and Finance - for the smooth functioning of the Development function in the organisation.

The Development Officer will report to the Development Manager of Vitamin Angels in India, in day-to-day work. This is a critical support function that will prepare the ground to contribute to the overall success of Development at Vitamin Angels, particularly in India.

The success of this role will directly depend upon seamless communication, excellent database management, deep desk research, and proactive coordination between Development and other teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting Development Strategy:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the strategic fundraising and partnership needs of Vitamin Angels

Build a deep understanding of corporate and philanthropic networks aligning with the organization's values and vision, integrating them into the Development Strategy

Lead and own the key components of database development and management, and networks that Vitamin Angels could benefit from

2. Fundraising and Marketing Support:

Collaborate with the Development Manager from identifying potential partners for fundraising and cause marketing, to pursuing leads, offering necessary material and tracking progress

Craft presentations and communications for prospective partners, coordinating follow-up actions with those accounts.

Support in managing key funder relationships, including immersion visits, donor relationship management, reporting, and renewal conversations.

3. Pipeline Building and Resource Mobilization:

Conduct outreach to the pipeline of potential corporate and philanthropic partners to mobilize resources for programs, communications and administration

Support in the development of concept notes, proposals and pitches

Traveling will be involved as part of the work. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

At least 2 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or related fields

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Knowledge / experience of Corporate Social Responsibility and philanthropy is preferred

Demonstrated experience in areas of research, interviewing, data analytics, and external communications (newsletters, social media etc) is an advantage

The candidate will be expected to work in a flexible, agile, intense and start-up-like environment. They will also be expected to be able to work independently with minimum supervision, yet be accountable to deliver specific results.
