Job Description

The Institute for Cultural Research and Action (ICRA), situated in Bangalore, Karnataka, is a developmental organization working with small farmers in the rainfed regions of Karnataka for more than 15 years. ICRA advocates for the rights of marginalized communities over natural resources and aims to facilitate their empowerment through interventions that focus on natural resource management, bio-integrated farming systems, regeneration of fallow land, action research on agrarian crisis, publications (in Kannada), and eco-marketing. ICRA aims to achieve its overarching framework of sustainable peoples' institutions and knowledge systems reinforced with peoples' science.

ICRA is currently accepting applications for two positions.

1. The first position is for an Administration and Accounts Candidate, who is required to have a minimum of three years of experience in accounts and should be responsible for accounting, handling all statutory requirements, and providing support to the administration as and when required. The candidate should be familiar with the latest tally and other applications. Written and oral skills in Kannada are essential. The compensation for this position will be based on the candidate's working background and willingness to take on responsibility. Candidates who have previously applied need not reapply.

2. ICRA is also seeking a Program Associate - Organic Farming/Agroecology, who will implement the Integrated Farming System project, coordinate and provide technical inputs, prepare and present scientific reports, and develop training and communication materials. The candidate should possess a sound understanding of rainfed farm ecosystems and a deep concern for small farmers. They should hold a graduate/post-graduate degree with five years of experience in a similar or related field, basic computer literacy, and knowledge of Kannada, which is essential. The compensation for this position will be based on the candidate's working background and willingness to take on responsibility.
