RATI Foundation, a Mumbai-based organization dedicated to combating violence against women and children is seeking a Junior Researcher to work on the third edition of our Ideal Internet Project. This project aims to examine digital disparities and how they impact access & safety in the online sphere.

About the Project:

Our previous research Ideal Internet 1.0 & Ideal Internet 2.0 focussed on exploring various aspects of the digital lives of marginalised children across India. The digital landscape in India is rapidly evolving yet disparities persist.

Our Ideal Internet Research 3.0 research will focus on investigating the inequalities through the lens of child rights and safety. By gathering on-ground data and examining existing policies, the research aims to provide suggestions & frameworks which ensure that every child can experience the full spectrum of their rights online in a rich and diverse digital world that makes spaces for growth, development and well being.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Organise and conduct comprehensive data collection at diverse locations in India.

2. Conduct literature reviews and desk reviews to gather insights from existing research and publications relevant to the project's objectives.

3. Analyse both primary and secondary data to extract insights.

4. Collaborate closely with internal team members and external stakeholders to deliver and implement work.

5. Produce research tailored for diverse audiences including analysis, reports and presentations

6. Ensure a participatory approach

7. Manage project data and administration effectively while supporting team members as needed.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

1. Master’s degree preferred

2. Zero to two years of experience in social research.

3. Experience in designing and conducting participatory research

4. Experience in designing both qualitative and quantitative research tools

5. Strong analytical skills, including expertise in Excel, SPSS, and ATLAS.ti.

6. Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

7. Track record of delivering high-quality research outputs.

8. An interest in conducting on-ground research with individuals from diverse backgrounds and the ability to grasp unique experiences with technology.

Terms of Engagement:

This is a full-time position based in Mumbai with a salary range of ?30,000 to ?35,000 per month depending on experience and expertise.

Standard workweek (Monday to Friday), with occasional weekend or holiday work compensated accordingly.
