About Sakshi:
Sakshi is an organization that has been promoting gender equality and responsible sexuality in India for 29 years. Since its inception in 1992, Sakshi has championed critical PILs, including ‘Vishaka Vs. State of Rajasthan’ and ‘Sakshi Vs. Union of India,’ which laid the foundation for
key gender-based laws like POCSO 2012 and POSH 2013. Sakshi’s influence extended globally through
its leadership of the Asia Pacific Advisory Forum for Judicial Education on Gender Equality, shaping
the judiciaries of five countries. Recognized as a ‘Best Practice’ model by UN Women, Sakshi has
continued to drive impactful campaigns and award-winning initiatives in Social Arts and Communication for Development. Their work revolves around empowering women, children, youth,and marginalized groups, focusing on life skills, equality education, diversity & inclusion, gender
mainstreaming, dialogue, negotiation, conflict resolution, and transformational leadership. ABOUT:
UN Women is working to address gender-based inequalities in the garment supply industry, particularly in Tamil Nadu, India, where the textile and garment sector is a significant employer.
The project, called 'Women’s Empowerment for Textile' (WEFT), aims to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and other gender-based violence against women and girls in the workplace and community locations. It involves a coalition of stakeholders, including global brands, suppliers, government, industry associations, trade unions, and civil society organizations. The focus is on creating a supportive legislative and policy environment and promoting positive social norms to end violence against women in the textile industry.
Sakshi has been empaneled with UN Women as its implementing agency for this project in select 10-15 textile factories operational in Karur, Tiruppur, and Dindigul districts of Tamil Nadu.
Field Facilitator: 2 Position | (Theater Background and Hindi Speaking ) This job offer Rs 15,000/- per month inclusive of TDS
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct field training for gender sensitization.
2. Conduct GBV awareness workshops either individually or with a training team at theFactories and Production Clusters.
3. Delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
4. Work closely with external ecosystem service providers
5. Support and contribute to reports and communications regarding program deadlines, training objectives and monitoring/ evaluation activities.
Qualification :
MSW/BSW
Experience in delivering gender sensitisation training workshops and awareness campaigns. Experience in textile sector 1-2 years
