Job Title- Accounts Officer [Female candidates only]
NEEDS is a not-for-profit organization, working in selected poverty-stricken pockets of Jharkhand, Bihar & West Bengal and brought about a significant changes in the life of women, children & other marginalized groups in terms of food security, livelihood, reproductive health, hygiene and child protection outcome beside constitution and strengthening various institutional arrangements for sustainability.
About the position: NEEDS is looking for a Female Accounts Officer to perform a multifaceted role within the organisation. She would oversee various financial processes, including budgeting, book keeping, and financial reporting. In addition, she needs to play a pivotal role in maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
Educational requirements: MCOM / BCOM / MBA Finance/ CA Inter and its equivalents
Age limit: 35 Years or below
Work experience:
3 to 5 years of working experience in accounts in any renowned NGO
Knowledge on FCRA, Indian Trust Act, CSR, Income Tax, EPF, ESI, Jharkhand Professional Tax and related acts and other compliances is a must
Knowledge on Accounts finalization
Knowledge on Procurements
Experience in managing audit process
Required skills:
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Expertise in handling of MS Excel & Tally ERP / Prime
Ability to work in short deadlines
Good command on written English
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing annual budget
Handling all aspects of accounting, including vouching, documentation, data entry, ledger review, and payment/receipt processing
Doing financial planning, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure all finances and budgets are established in order to enhance cost effectiveness
Finalizing accounts and managing internal as well as statutory audit
Payroll management that includes preparing and submitting TDS, Profession Tax etc.
Ensuring timely preparation and submission of compliance related documents/reports to various authorities such as FCRA, Income Tax etc.
Preparing and submitting financial reports to funders as and when required
Submitting reports/budgets to trustees as and when required
Being aware of changing compliance landscapes related to FCRA, Income Tax, CSR, banking etc.
Ensuring all banking operations are aligned to approved authorization and approval matrices and regulatory requirements
Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to inform decision-making and drive operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Vendor management and processing of payments. Manage all payments to vendors and employees and follow the organization controls e.g. ensuring that all payments are processed through bank after satisfactory verification of authorizations and submitted supporting documents (invoices etc.), payment vouchers are entered before cheques are issued etc.
Managing all procurements.
Assisting the Senior Management with financial & accounting related functions.
Uphold high ethical standards in financial and procurement practices, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Build positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and project beneficiaries.
Salary: Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 45,000/- per month (CTC)
Note: The salary is negotiable for candidates with exceptional qualifications and experience.
