About the Project:

Project SAHAS, implementing with support from Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI), is a ‘unique and innovative’ project that focuses on five major areas affecting Transgenders (Male to Female & Female to male, including nonbinary persons) in India. The focused areas are Holistic Healthcare (including early detection, prevention and referral treatment for communicable as well as non-communicable diseases), Gender Affirmation Care (GAC), Human Rights, Gender Based Violence and Social Welfare Entitlements. The project’s key objective is to create a significant positive impact in the areas of gender identity, education, equitable access, and the economic status of the transgender population. The project will be implemented in ten sites at three levels (national, state and community levels), ensuring collaboration with the organisations working for the welfare of the transgender community.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The M&E officer will be responsible for the data collection, analysis and interpretation. The person will maintain the MIS registers as required by the programme at the State level and ensure the data quality. Working closely with the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will ensure that required information-related data are provided to the team for various reporting purposes.

The key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

 Set up robust data capture and analysis processes at the field level in close coordination with the national team.

 Ensuring accuracy in the data collection through MIS tools.

 Responsible for updating all the MIS registers and maintaining the information in soft and hard copies.

 Ensuring overall implementation of reporting systems into practice.

 Timely compilation of Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/ six monthly and annual reports.

 Ensuring timely and quality reporting in the prescribed formats.

 Analysing the data and providing feedback along with Project Coordinator

 Preparing the data reconciliation statements and action-taken reports in consultation with the team.

 Ensuring data confidentiality by strictly adhering to data safety & protection measures as per the protocols

 Ensure complete data backup and safety throughout the duration of the project.

Actively participate in programme-related reviews and prepare reports as per project and/or donor requirement.

 Strictly follow the organisational work plan and individual activity plan and proactively contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic directions, ensuring adherence to quality and timeliness of the deliverables.

 Undertake other responsibilities not outlined above, which are commensurate with a role of this nature in the charitable sector and are of interest to the organisation, which have been discussed between the line manager and the post holder.

Essential requirements:

 Graduation in relevant stream. Graduates in Statistics preferred.

 At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar capacity, ideally in the area of sexual health, or HIV related programming.

 Candidate preferred from the community and/or working experience with the TGH population.

 Proven understanding of the diversities of the TG/Hijra population, especially within the programme-implementing regions.

 Sound knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and Transgender / Hijra Issues

 Fluent in English, Hindi, and/or the regional language where the programme is being implemented.

Desirable qualities/experience/skills:

 Good understanding of development issues and the HIV epidemic(s) in India.

 Knowledge of data analysis and presentation tools.

A good understanding of legal and ethical issues around HIV/AIDS/ KPs.

Salary: Rs 15000
