Outline India focuses on catalyzing the work of academics, think tanks, corporate social responsibility arms, not-for-pro?ts, funders, and Government of India. In the last ten years, we have worked on over 200 evaluations in 29 all Indian states and union territories, across over 60,000 villages, representing 5 million stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, settings, and sectors, with the aim to include their needs, opinions, and views to draft and inform the work of our partners and policymakers in a better way.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager will plan, design, conduct and manage research projects and ensure high-quality deliverables. He / She will work on a variety of methods to collect, analyze and organize information and data. We are looking for someone who is interested in working with a young and growing social enterprise and is keen on contributing to its growth within the development/social sector space.
At Outline India, the Project Manager may find himself or herself building proposals, liaising with clients, interacting and brainstorming with our in-house researchers, devising methodologies, working on pertinent research projects of interest and expertise, interviewing candidates, or evaluating tests among many other activities.
An association with Outline India gives the Project Manager an opportunity to represent Outline India at various start-up and academic forums, serve as a panel participant at conferences, author research pieces or articles for academic journals or newspapers and visit rural or remote locations across India for field work and interaction with the locals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage projects end to end, and develop project schedules which involve planning, budgeting and allocating resources for an entire project
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to manage the progress of the project
• Write proposals, draft budgets (for client and field), design questionnaires and guides, clean/ assist in cleaning data (qualitative and quantitative) and write reports
• Manage client expectations effectively without delays
• Use appropriate and creative methodologies to design and manage research projects, which involve the use of quantitative and/or qualitative methods
• Responsible for the closure of the project
• Mentor and guide researchers in research projects and ensure timely delivery and quality of all deliverables
• Travel to the field for the purpose of training and monitoring fieldwork
• Manage and monitor datasets on a regular basis
• Oversee daily data collection activities and ensure adherence to data quality protocols
• Liaise with the field team, research team and client pre, during and post-data collection
• Review translations, transcriptions, write-ups and budgets
• Work with HR on project team-specific hiring
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• A PhD, MPhil, or Masters's degree from a reputed institution
• Experience in handling research studies (qualitative and quantitative)
• Understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel, and presentation skills.;
• Demonstrate knowledge of the development sector in India;
• Have and help build a network to loop in experts, advisors, and other consultants;
• Strong management skills, ability to multi-task and take responsibility for the timely completion of projects;
• Innovative and receptive to working on new ideas and proposals
Note: This is a mid-senior level position requiring an experienced candidate in the development sector. Fresh graduates and candidates with 0-3 years of exposure will not be suitable.
