Job Description

The Field Facilitators are the human-interface of the Unilever-PON supported project on Health, Hygiene and Nutrition at the ground level. The Facilitators will be responsible for engaging and creating awareness leading to behavior change of the :

Target Groups-

• Women (Pregnant Women in last trimester,

• New Mothers with children between 0-2 years and

• General mothers with children between > 2 -6 years)

• husbands of these women,

• Mothers in Law,

• frontline health workers (ANM, ASHA and Anganwadi Worker), CDPOs

• key opinion leaders (KoLs) like Sarpanchs, Up sarpanchs, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members and key influencers in the village community.

The Facilitators will be responsible for the following of activities:

• For given villages with the pair of the team in a period of 8-10 months as per the plan

• Conducting group meetings through interpersonal communication

• A complete saturation to be ensured of the identified TGs in the identified villages.

• Managing Tab & filling up all data in the tab of the attendance of the team, IPC activities, TG details, etc. as per the software

• Explaining and distributing the IEC materials with the TGs

• All display materials and other program related posters, leaflets, give aways, boards, games etc. given to them to be distributed and pasted in the village in different spots.

Expected Deliverables during employment:

? Visit the allotted villages every day for meetings with the TGs

? Conduct social mappings in the villages with the help of AWWs & ASHA

? Identify and list the TGs in the villages

? Conduct inter-personal session of the identified TGs as social behaviour change communication

? Conduct inter-personal communication sessions by using different program tools on which training will be given

? Group sessions (with above mentioned target groups), as per the target planning provided.

? Conduct 5-6 IPC session daily with 50-60 identified TGs in each IPC sessions and meeting done

? Organize the village launch events as awareness programs in the program area as per the launch detailed plan will be shared.

? Meeting with the sarpanchs, AWWs, ASHA, ANM for organizing meetings and mobile registrations

? Enrolling the target groups with the Mobile based services/registration in the project.

? Follow up with the TGs that there is improved nutrition status and handwashing practice with soap-related behavior.

? Follow up with the identified target groups

? Support Block Coordinator and district coordinator for activities like, attending different government meetings at the village and blocks, Poshan Maha, Breast feeding week, nutrion mela, swatchthya diwas, and any village activities related to nutrition celebration

? Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Mandatory Conditions:

1. Has to work from Mon-Sat. Only regional holidays will be given.

2. Total daily working hours will be 8 hours.

3. 8 hours has to be in the field for pre program and on program activities meeting the TGs, doing 5-6 community meetings, meeting the AWWS.

4. Team visiting the village has to be flexible as per the community convenience so male and females are there to meet and talk about the program.

5. IT IS NOT A 9-5 JOB FLEXIBILITY NEEDED

6. Daily attendance both in and log out has to be marked in the tablets given to the FDs as a team as per the planning before they leave the village.

7. If the FD want can log in again after leaving the village for any other work and for data filling if needed.

8. If any attendance missed(log in or log out) for 2 consecutive days the FD will be marked absent & salary will be deducted.

9. If the FD reaching the village after 11.00am for 2 consecutive days salary will be deducted.

10. Police verification is MUST. If any information hidden the staff will be terminated immediately.

11. Have to travel in the villages daily and need to cover the TGs from all corners.

12. Must own a two-wheeler (especially Males)

13. Need to travel and work in Pair (one Male and one Female)

Submission of Assets:

14. Handover the office assets(tablets, power backup, speakers, battery etc.) with resignation. If not submitted salary will be deducted.

15. If any posters or program materials has to be submitted.

Disciplinary Action/Termination:

16. If any misconduct observed or any complaints received necessary disciplinary actions will be taken.

17. If targets not fulfilled or completed after review by the State Program Officer, disciplinary actions will be taken for the staff

18. Compulsory to fulfill 1 month notice period or 1 month salary loss on immediate resignation (as per the conditions).

19. Termination as per the basis of performance review & notices received. If received 3 notices eligible for termination without notice. Non achievement of daily targets can lead to loss of pay.

20. Upon shortlisting, a letter of intent may be issued but the final confirmation will be given after the successful completion of training by the candidate and final review of their performance by the project team.

21. The agency must share the JDs with the identified candidates and must brief them about the expected role and responsibilities along with these mandatory conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Preferably in the age group of 23-35

• Should at least be a graduate

• Should have some experience in Social/Health & Hygiene/ Nutrition sector

• Should have some experience of interpersonal counselling/ community mobilization or marketing

• Candidates from project district will be preferred

• Should own a smart phone and be well versed with phone, tab and using internet

• Should be willing to travel for 25 days in a month

• Have own 2 wheeler for travelling in the village.

• No criminal background

• Have a good moral character and passion for working on social issues

Skills required for the job:

• Possess good public-speaking and inter-personal skills

• Good in local colloquial language(dehat region)

• Good relationship management and conflict-resolution skills

• Empathy and good counselling skills

• Candidates with understanding about parenting, nutrition and hand washing with soap are encouraged to apply

• Good teaching, coaching and mentoring skills especially in adult education

• Treat people from all backgrounds equally and secular in approach with no caste and gender related bias

• Articulate, well-groomed and confident

• Comfortable with using mobile and online technology

• Candidates who know to ride a two-wheeler, will be preferred

Salary: As approved in the project. TA will be also provided as per the project approval.
