Fake NGO collecting donation busted

The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Thursday busted a racket of a fake NGO and arrested 11 youths hailing from Maharashtra. They were collecting donation by showing pictures of cancer patients. These members of the fake NGO were carrying visiting cards, receipt payment books and seals of the NGO. The GRP also seized Rs 26,000 collected as donation.
This morning 12 youths came on the railway station platform and asked for donation from the passengers. They showed photographs stating that these cancer patients needed help and therefore this NGO is working to collect money for their treatment. "During routine checking our constables reported this matter and we decided to check these people," said Heera Lal, SHO of GRP police station. A team of GRP police went investigated the matter. They found that these members were representatives of an NGO called Bright Future Association of Mumbai. They later cross-checked it and found it to be fake. These members were also carrying donation boxes and receipt books. "We searched the belongings of these members and found six fake files on cancer patients, 13 receipt books, visiting cards, coupons, seals and other material proving that their organization is genuine," added the official.
After verification, police registered a case of cheating against these members and arrested them. The accused are Saidin Rafeeque (27) of Thane district of Maharashtra, Mohammad Ansari (35) of Thane, Mohammad Ramzan (27), Kmal (23), Kiran Uttam (21), Charu Dutt (21) of from Thane, Ujjawala Ram Chandra (22) of Nasik, Pooja (19) of Nasik, Priyanka Sunil Jadhav (21) of Thane, Jamila Bano wife of Ramzan (27) of Thane were arrested
