It was a special day for the children from various orphanages of the tricity. An initiative by the Vrinda Foundation for the orphans, ?Vrinda Utsav?, proved to be very successful and engaging for the children. More than 140 children from the tricity participated in the programme.

A retired IAS officer, Shiv Raman Gaur, was the chief guest and Vineet Joshi, Assistant Media Advisor, Punjab, was the guest of honour.

The children took part in a number of competions such as dancing, singing and drawing, which were all held at the Indian Medical Association Hall, Sector 35, here. The children from 11 orphanages and NGOs participated in this unique event.
After the inauguration, Gaur said, ?This event is a beautiful way to make these children feel special. It gave them an excellent platform to showcase their talent and come into the limelight. I congratulate the Vrinda Foundation for this commendable effort.?
