NGO?s in Pune urge transport minister to scrap MSRTC fare hike

Several NGO's in Pune have criticized the unjust hike in fares of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation under the name of accident relief fund.In a letter sent to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and transport minister Diwakar Raote, the NGO's including Sajag Nagrik Manch and PMP Pravasi Manch said that even during the Diwali festive rush, MSRTC had hiked fares."After unjust profiteering during Diwali rush, MSRTC has again announced bus fare under the name accident relief fund from April 1. This will fetch MSRTC Rs 200 crore. MSRTC says that they will give additional compensation to accident victims'', Jugal Rathi, president of the PMP Pravasi Manch said.
