A Japanese NGO has pledged support to protect tiger corridor connecting Tadoba-Andhari in Chandrapur and Navegaon-Nagzira in Gondia and Bhandara districts.
A two-member team of Japan Tiger and Elephant Fund (JTEF), an NGO supporting groups working for tiger conservation here, on Sunday returned after a five-day visit to Tadoba and its corridors connecting Brahmapuri and Umred-Karhandla. They were accompanied by senior WTI director Rahul Kaul and local head Prafulla Bhamburkar.
Talking to TOI, chairperson of JTEF Kumi Togawa and her colleague Uki Sakamoto said, "We have already been supporting Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) for conserving corridors between Nagzira and Navegaon. Looking at the ground situation, we plan to extend it to Tadoba now."
