The driver and conductor of a BMTC bus were in for a shock on Sunday morning when they found a three-month-old girl in the driver's seat in Majestic bus stand. The infant wrapped in a bed sheet is believed to have been abandoned by her parents.
The girl was sent to Bosco Mane, an NGO, which was flooded with over 20 calls from people wanting to adopt her. Later in the evening, she was sent to the child welfare committee. "We received over 20 calls on our helpline. Some were from couples, others were asking for their friends and relatives," said Fr Mathew Thomas, director of Bosco Mane.
