Tech firm in Pune ties up with restaurants, NGOs and serves up on a plate zero-food wastage app

AT A time when apps are a rage, here?s one that takes on a social route-sensitising residents to take up the cause of not wasting food in a country where for some, finding a meal twice a day is a privilege.
Inculcating the ?zero-food wastage? message among residents, this app allows the foodies headed to restaurants/eateries earn reward points for not wasting food they are served. The reward points can be redeemed later.
Since November 2015, city-based firm, SamvadSocial Technologies, in collaboration with My Indian Dream, has been creating awareness for the cause of zero food wastage. Carrying forward the initiative, the firm will be launching a free mobile application ? Food Dosti ? a techno-social solution to address food wastage in the city today.
