To popularise the Railway Protection Force (RPF) helpline number 182 among female commuters, the RPF along with NGO Akshara will soon be putting up renewed posters of the helpline in ladies coaches on Central Railway (CR).
This comes after a poor response to the helpline number from female commuters. ?From around 150-200 calls received on the helpline number daily, only 20-25 are from females.
Among these, complaints relating to poor conditions of the compartment or property thefts dominate,? said Sachin Bhalode, Divisional Security Commissioner, Central Railway.
