If a child cannot come to the school, let's take the school to the child.' This is the motto of NGO August Kranti that is planning to start a new project?a school on wheels?which will be called August Kranti mobile school.
This will be aimed at educating destitute children residing at faraway places. Volunteers and teachers will head to such places with a bus full of books and other educational aids.
They aim to make street children eligible for enrollment in mainstream schools. The project will be initiated soon after Independence Day.
The NGO which started its journey in 2012 with a handful of construction workers' children, has taught nearly 250 children till date. Out of them, 24 have been enrolled in local municipal schools.
