Job Description

Bahaar Foundation

Bahaar Foundation is a Bangalore-based non-profit organization that works to create sustainable livelihood opportunities in low-income areas, with a focus on rural populations. Our current programs are spread across several states in India, in healthcare and agriculture sectors.

In agriculture, the flagship program in this initiative is Moringa Cultivation. Bahaar is facilitating Skill development, Financing and Market Linkages for the output from the Moringa cultivation. The foundation will further promote value addition to the commodity by farmers to improve the income.

Initiatives with alternative crops, value-additions, interventions, and agri-entrepreneurship programs are also in pilot phase across several states.

In the healthcare vertical, the flagship program is the Community Healthcare Entrepreneur (CHE). CHE is a program designed to improve the availability and access to quality healthcare for those residing in rural areas, and to give a chance to women of low social income groups to become micro entrepreneurs.

CHEs will provide both preventive and curative health services to the community by using technology and a digital platform to provide health services where accessibility is an issue.

The role of the CHE is envisioned as a first point of contact for their community’s healthcare needs. To this end, as a community healthcare representative, the CHE will perform the following roles – Primary healthcare, Chronic disease management, Elder care, Ongoing community health.

The Bahaar Foundation is working with several partners across the country to implement the CHE project. Programs are spread across the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The Foundations aims to scale the program to enable 10,000 CHEs across the country.
