JOB DECRIPTION

Position: Associate Director- Content & Curriculum

Location: New Delhi

Reports to: Director- Content and Curriculum

This is a contractual position.

The incumbent is required to be available five times (Monday to Friday) a week, (9 AM-5 PM) during the period of association.

Key Responsibilities

This job requires moderate travel to program areas for formative testing, training and evaluation.

Content Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives for ECCE programs.

• Conduct research to identify emerging trends, best practices, and educational standards in early childhood education.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define content requirements, learning outcomes, and assessment criteria.

Content Development and Curation:

• Lead the development, review, and refinement of high-quality educational content, including lesson plans, teaching guides, assessments, and multimedia resources.

• Develop assessment tools for children and AWWs, checklists for monitoring for ECCE projects etc.

• Ensure that content is engaging, age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and inclusive of diverse learners.

• Curate existing educational materials and adapt content to meet specific program needs and learning objectives.

Quality Assurance and Evaluation:

• Implement robust quality assurance processes to review, evaluate, and enhance the e?ectiveness of educational content.

• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure the impact of content on student learning outcomes and instructional e?ectiveness.

• Analyze feedback from educators, learners, and other stakeholders to inform content revisions and improvements.

Partnership and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with internal and external partners, including educators, subject matter experts, curriculum specialists, and technology vendors, to develop and refine content solutions.

• Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, government agencies, and industry associations to stay informed of industry trends and regulatory requirements.

Needs Assessment/Formative Research

• Design appropriate formative research and tools to evaluate content efficacy

• Manage all formative research in collaboration with the content, program and other teams.

• Develop RFP for research, manage research agency and work in collaboration to develop research design, tools and data analysis as well as report writing.

Training

• Develop training modules and manuals for identified target audience.

• Conduct training AWWs/Master trainers/teachers on content/curricula as per project requirements

• Conduct training workshops to build the capacity of field sta? and others to ensure impactful content delivery at the programmatic level.

• Train external master trainers, develop SOW, as required

Essential requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in childhood studies, early childhood education, child development or related fields

• Prior experience working with young children (3-6, 6-8 years) with solid knowledge of their developmental milestones

• Minimum 14-18 years of experience in content development for young children, including development of curriculum and educational frameworks

• Experience with media, art and culture forms, including mass media, digital media, alternative forms of media and their use with children

• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

• Expertise in foundational learning and ECCE

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MIS or other database management systems

• Strong writing skills especially in preparing reports, and presentations

• Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills in English.

• Creative thinker and problem solver.
