SOS Children’s Villages of India is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization working for the holistic development of parentless children, women and children belonging to vulnerable families. Founded in 1949 in Austria, SOS Children’s Villages began its operations in India in 1964. For over 50 years, we have reached out to over 25,000 children through our 32 SOS Children’s Villages and 32 community projects in India. SOS Children’s Villages of India was established in 1964 at Faridabad near Delhi. SOS India has worked with children, communities, disaster struck and disaster-prone areas, giving hope to weary communities and families. SOS India is the largest operation within the SOS International Federation of 134 countries.

Purpose:
Provide family care through program execution in a Children’s Village within the prescribed guidelines and standards
Areas of Responsibility :
1. Support youth in building reliable and long-term relationship; demonstrate a nondiscriminatory sense of mutual respect through his own relationships and communication as an adult.
2. Provides a secure and safe environment for each youth where they do not need to fear punitive, damaging punishment.
3. Participate actively in the transition process of the youth from the SOS Children’s Villages into the SOS Youth Facility.
4. Supports the training of household skills to enable the youth to autonomously keep a safe, hygienic and homely living environment.
5. Encourages and assists each youth in getting involved in the community to maintain social networks which are appropriate to their age and capacity.
6. Demonstrates initiative in order to maximize each youth’s achievement potential; Encourages the young people in taking on responsibility for their decisions, life and career.
7. Takes an active participative interest in each youth’s school life and extracurricular activities.
8. Responsible for academic performance of youth living in the Youth Facility.
9. Preparing annual development plan for each youth in consultation and discussion with the Village Director, Mother and youth
10. Organize programs for the youth like personality development, living skills, sex education, sports, library, morning exercises etc.
11. Organize youth day activities
12. Prepare and manage the Youth Facility annual and monthly budget
13. Function as a good guide to the youth in their all-round growth and development.
14. Maintain a strong and healthy relationship with the youth and involve them in decision making related to their education, career and settlement.
Education :
Master's degree in Social Work/ Psychology/ Sociology from a reputed college
Languages & Skills:
1. Communication skills in English & Hindi mandatory apart from knowledge of local language. Must have significant and proven writing skills.
