BACKGROUND
The Govind Ballav Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBP NIHE) under INTEGRATED ECO-DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH PROGRAMME (IERP) initiative is supporting an innovative awareness project “Radio Himalaya” in Uttarakhand state. For this, GBP NIHE / IERP have selected the proposal submitted by the Institute for Development Support (IDS). This fortnightly radio program of 15 minutes will be broadcasted through 100.5 FM Akashwani Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The theme of the radio program will be to raise awareness about the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) in Uttarakhand state
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITIONS:
The selected candidates would work through 15 months contract with Institute for Development Support (IDS), Dehradun and will be based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Candidates who meet the required qualifications and experience are invited to apply in reply to an announcement, following which a desk review of their skills and experience will be done to see their suitability as Consultant-

KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PROJECT COORDINATOR
Overall management and coordination of Radio Himalaya Project.
Research, Planning and implementation of Radio Himalaya Project.
Provide help in radio scripting, radio plays and jingles.
Field visit to record the stories.
Organize community mobilization, sensitization, awareness and IEC activities.
Organize state consultation workshop and other meetings on time to time.
Networking with government and non government institutions and community leaders.
Production of radio programs and episodes on time.
Prepare quarterly reports and other reports of the project.
Monitoring and supervision of project activities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The following qualifications will be required from prospective interested candidate for the post of Project Coordinator:
a. Postgraduate degree/ Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication / Radio Production.
b. Min. 3 Years’ experience of working in radio, audio, television, journalism, development communication, New Media, IEC etc
c. Research, documentation and report writing skill
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to travel, including to remote and rural areas on short notice. Thorough understanding of UN - Sustainable Development Goals.
Report writing (including data collection) and communication skills
Ability to gather, monitor and analyze the data and prioritize the action in radio scripting
Facilitation skills as per participatory methodologies
Ability to work effectively in a team
Proficiency in computer applications
Able to produce results and work in a changing environment.
Women candidates will be given preferences.
LANGUAGES
Speaking and writing skills in Hindi and English. Regional language is an asset.
REMUNERATION:
Remuneration would be commensurate with the skill and experience of the candidate.
