Purpose
The primary role of Development Specialist will be to promote and gain support for RNB Global University’s academic ambition and work, among strategic audiences in India and all over the globe. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for the development, coordination and execution of all major gift resource development and partnership strategies that align with RNB Global University’s overall strategy and objectives, which is to raise support for the University through various fundraising channels. The role will be heavily focused on Leadership giving areas – Philanthropic partners, major donors, trusts,Foundations and Corporate Partners. The person will be inspiring others into taking a more first-hand approach to International and National Development, while still leading all major gift appeals, institutional funding engagement, and large corporate sponsorship and other acquisition activities throughout the year.
Key relationships
The position works closely with Head of Development, Proposal developers, and a research, intel and data management unit.

About us
The RNB Global University has been established by act no 20 of 2015 passed by the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha and notified by state of Rajasthan on 27/04/2015. The degrees which will be awarded by RNB Global University would be recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC).
The University has a sprawling campus in Bikaner and currently have faculties of- School of Arts and Social Sciences; Basic and Applied Sciences; School of Commerce and Management; and School of Law. The University has a capacity of accommodating three thousands students in an academic year.
The University is planning to expand the faculty to include several other disciplines in the areas of- Public Health Management; Diplomacy and Mass Communication It is also establishing a very ambitious research centre pursuing cutting edge research in the areas of- natural resources, health, climate, and various other areas that are of growing importance to contemporary geo-political and socio-economic landscape of civilisational challenges mankind face.

The University has been funded by the founding family for nearly a decade now. The institution is now blessed with- a sprawling infrastructure, strong faculty and learning facilities, academic excellence ambition, and good will of the local community. To become the most renowned and acclaimed rural University of India, we are establishing a development unit to raise funds for the University’s future ambitions.In the coming years, we are aiming to become self-sustainable with a strategically built fundraising and institution development engine.
The University Development Team will be spread over multiple locations in India and outside India as well. Currently, we have an office at Delhi- which functions like a corporate office for the University. Additionally, we are opening our Development offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai now.
Roles and Responsibilities
Stratey, oversight, and fund development
Conceptualise, shape, and implement a comprehensive and purpose-driven fund-raising strategy to engage various foundations, trusts, family foundations, corporates, government institutions, philanthropists, UHNI and build long-term sustainable relationships with them
Optimise implementation of the University’s fundraising operations & be responsible for engaging with different donor segments as per adopted strategy of the University in India and all over the world; including UHNI, corporates, charitable trusts, family offices, multilateral agencies, and trusts & foundations to raise donations, grants, scholarships, sponsorships etc.- as per the annual target.
Provide guidance and leadership to the overall fundraising unit, research and intel unit for lead generation and prospect engagement.
Support in setting up essential operating infrastructure, processes including drafting of grant proposals, and systems to meet the fundraising goals.
Initiate and recruit the corporate and institutional fundraising team with permanent staff and volunteers as per feasibility and requirement.
Provide strategic input on funding and sector trends and identify opportunities to ensure the organisation is well-positioned to meet its strategic goals.
Ensure the creation of a robust and researched database of potential corporate and institutional donor communities.
Track performance against Fundraising (Inspire) KPIs. Set fundraising revenues and goals for the fundraising team and manage partnership pipelines.
Participate on the all sub-committee etc. that may be created for enabling fundraising for the University.
Trusts and Foundations
Coordinate with the Head of Development and the team, to develop a pro-active Trust & Foundations program to grow income.
Develop standards, strategies and tactics to research and identify potential grants and other opportunities for project funding.
Grow and maintain funding pipelines; setting time bound goals to ensure incremental progress over specific periods.
Consult with the team Head of Development, and other relevant university teams- to coordinate, draft, and submit tailored funding concepts and proposals.
Appropriate stewardship with funders with an aim of building long term funding relationships.
Assist organisation with any institutional grant applications as required.
Major Donor and Partnership
Work with the Head of Development to strategically identify and develop Major Donors to secure partners/clients from the public (UHNI), corporations and the larger fundraising landscape.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective major donors and partners.
Grow and maintain funding pipelines; setting time bound goals to ensure incremental progress over specific periods.
Work with the University to re-engage any historic donors and partners.
Develop contextualised fundraising products that are aligned with the University's core mission. for various types of major gifts; Coordinate and assist in the development of cases for support and the submission of proposals to major donors and partners.
Contribute to the business development database and track relationships.
Collaborate with the Head of Development and the team to ensure effective partner journeys, care, and stewardship.
Accountabilities
Complete tasks on time and in accordance with expectations
Work constructively and collaboratively with other members of the University team.
Undertake relevant training as required.
Reporting
Coordinate funding acquittals calendar and liaise with internal teams to ensure complete funding acquittals to all resource/funding partners.
Track fundraising income, administer all fundraising data and ensure accurate records are maintained.
Contribute to monthly board reports on fundraising activities including pipeline, tracking against budget and analysis of return on investment.
Set reporting standards and process within the team with the Head of Development
Administration
Work with the Head of Development to ensure appropriate policies, procedures, and processes are in place to maximise resources output and impact.
Contribute to the effective operations of the office and administrative functions; monitor and evaluate team performance.
Oversee database maintenance.
Oversee donations and donor processing and receipting
Answer to critical emails and important and urgent general inquiries
Handle donor care.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES/ SKILLS:
Must have a minimum of a decade's working experience in the development and non-profit fundraising sector
Strong track record of raising funds from renowned institutions.
Advanced conceptual and technical knowledge of institutional fundraising.
Strong acumen in business and partnership development.
A hands-on leader will suit the role.
Strong communication skills and personal integrity are baseline requirements.
Knowledge of CRM implementation & sustenance will be preferred.
Open mind and flexibility to work in a growing and learning team.
Strong understanding of the higher education fundraising landscape.
Highly advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
