We work with social ventures (across the profit- non-profit continuum) that are at different stages in their lifecycle- seed, growth and maturity. We build enduring change models with focus on innovation, impact and sustainability. 

Over 13 years, Start Up! has incubated and scaled more than 100 social ventures and delivered 175 change projects in 15 states. We have trained 350  leaders of grassroots, small and medium-scale social enterprises in strategic planning and leadership building. We have also incubated incubators.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an intrapreneurial professional with initiative, high learning orientation and keenness to grow in the social entrepreneurship and/or development sector. You will be part of an “Everybody an Intrapraneur” team that builds vibrant social ventures and an active eco-system for social entrepreneurship across India.  

Role: Program Associate

Location: New Delhi

Work arrangement: Full-time permanent position.

Reporting: Program Manager/ Strategy Consultant  

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Strengthening and Scaling High Impact Social Change Ventures

You will provide research and coordination support to the Start Up! teams in seeding, strengthening, and scaling social impact ventures, models, and programs, based on Start Up’s 8 Step Methodology.   

This will require you to:

Coordinate and manage strategic planning and sustainability building programs and processes:

Conduct secondary research and literature reviews on domains and themes, as per the requirements of projects.

Coordinate and document interviews, workshops, and meetings.

Co-ordinate and document envisioning exercises and strategic planning workshops

Conduct primary and secondary research, landscape assessments and benchmarking exercises to create sector maps that track emerging trends in the non-profit, and social enterprise domains.

Provide research, writing and, design support for strategy plans, business plans, operations plans and other required presentations for social entrepreneurs.

Document social change models. 

Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of solutions:

Ensure excellent project management, utilization of time and resources, and effective and timely communication with all stakeholders.

Coordinate a system for regular feedback from clients and partners.

Support in developing proposals for business development.

Build excellent timely communication and coordination across all partners/clients.

Work smoothly with peers and managers and receive constructive feedback well.

Go beyond own deliverables to support others in the team or the larger organization where required.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED 

Knowledge/ Technical Skills

Excellent research, communication, and writing skills.

Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship in India and globally.

Experience in supporting the development of strategic plans, fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts or organizational development processes.

Experience in facilitating and documenting workshops.

Strong data analysis skills and ability to develop presentations.

Ability to deliver projects and programs in a structured and process-focussed manner, within a fast-paced, outcome-oriented work environment.

Leadership Skills

Initiative-taking, resilience, high problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

Ability to manage time and discipline with deadlines.

Strong learning orientation: Ability to receive and act on feedback.

Positive communication and relationship-building skills with partners/clients and teams

Enthusiasm for working with grassroots communities and/or with social entrepreneurs in their fields of operation.

Enthusiasm for travel, especially to rural locations

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRE

Post-graduation, with specialization in social entrepreneurship or liberal arts or development management or economics or business studies preferred.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience- either as a lead team member in a social enterprise and/or non-profit organization and/or eco-system building. Prior experience in a consulting venture or strategic communication, fundraising, and research functions would be preferred.

Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional Indian languages will be a plus.

Excellent skills in MS Office/equivalent applications, especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
