Job Description

• Lead, supervise, and regularly monitor project implementation as per the approved implementation plan. In particular, the position will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness of implementation and program quality.
• Planning and preparing a detailed implementation schedule for the Village Development Programme with the project team in each of the districts, based on participatory community-led processes.
• Provide support, mentoring, and assistance to the project teams with the objective of achieving clearly defined and measurable outputs.
• Ensure that program activities have a clear sustainability and exit plan, including handing over of assets to community institutions
• Support and guide project teams in the facilitation of training, workshops, and reviews.
• Support project teams for the development of training and social behaviour change communication materials /resources.
• Coordinate visits from donors, and other partners/stakeholders.
• Liaise, build, and maintain productive collaborations with Government departments (Administration, Rural Development Department, Education, and Panchayati Raj Department, etc) and other agencies such as academic and research institutes and like–minded NGOs in the area.
• Regular participation in block and district-level government meetings/workshops.
• Leveraging funding under government programs and enabling access to government schemes/entitlements for participating households.
• Institutionalise systems for regular financial and program reviews. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in implementation in a timely manner
• Ensure visibility and communication of project progress and achievements as per the agreed MOU with the donors.
• Support the development of regular progress reports and project briefs as required.
• Under regular field visits in the project area and ensure systems for regular monitoring.
• Carry out assigned administrative responsibilities supporting the Project Coordinators in each implementation district.
• Ensure project implementation as per the agreed MoU with the donor and in line with the Organizational processes.
• Ensure timely collation of program data/reports, their review, updation, and submission/dissemination to relevant forums.
• Support the identification and regular documentation of best practices and case studies across the project.
• Facilitate cross-learning amongst the district teams and facilitate inter-sectoral learning.
Qualifications and Education:
Post Graduate in Social Sciences, Rural Management, Rural Development, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the field of rural development. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in managing multi-sectoral projects/teams in livelihood, education, health, sanitation, and infrastructure development.
Strong skills in budgeting, financial management, team management, reporting, and M&E.
Ability to establish long linkages and liaisons with government and other stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills in Hindi, English, and the regional languages of the state and the ability to read and write the regional language of the state is an added advantage.
