Project brief: Gujarat is the fifth-largest state of India found in the western part of the country. As large regions within Gujarat face recurring extreme rainfall events leading to soil erosion and flooding, and also sea water intrusion in aquifers; land degradation and soil salinity are major natural disaster threatening the state’s agriculture, economy, and citizens; especially in rural areas.
The project will seek to significantly increase the agricultural productivity, increase incomes of small-scale food producers, save water through irrigation optimisation, create green jobs, promote efficient use of resources, enhance soil health through regenerative practices and enable access to nutrition and dietary diversity for women from farming households.
We are in the process of recruiting qualified and competent candidate to support the above project in the position of Assistant Manager
She/He will report to Program Manager
The Key Result Areas of the job are mentioned below.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Project management (KRA1)
• Efficient management & implementation of the project activities in collaboration with the implementing partners
• Lead in planning and coordination of the activities with farmers.
• Provide handholding support to the farmers to close the gaps as per pre-assessment/ gap audit. This would include identification, documentation, training of farmers and any other activities related to improvement activities.
• Communicate & Coordinate with the filed team and to ensure smooth & timely execution/submission of reports
• Organise Focused Group Discussions, Round tables and capacity building workshops at District Levels.
• Execution of potential interventions to mitigate social and environmental impacts leading to business cases for the industry
• Ensure engagement of key brands in the project
• Support to senior management of Solidaridad to organize events at national level.
Project implementing, monitoring and reporting (KRA2)
• Efficient management of implementation of the project activities in collaboration supervisor and stakeholders at the field level;
• Design and conduct workshop for farmers on Best Agricultural practices and other activities of the project;
• Conduct field visits on a regular basis to provide supportive supervision to the farmer groups
• Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly progress report and assist in documentation pertaining to Programme.
• Assist in documentation, reports pertaining to programs
Project development (KRA3)
• Support to senior representative of Solidaridad to organize events at District/state/national level
• Liaoning with government Agriculture departments/ rural development and research institutions.
• Updating Innovative ideas emerging during implementation of the activities.
• Attending progress meetings, trainings, conferences, team engagements and events related to the project and translates collected information in proposals to adjust/improve the project.

Qualifications and Competencies:
• M.Sc in Agriculture (or any other equivalent subjects) / Post Graduate in Social Work/ Social Science with agricultural sector knowledge.
• At least 7-10 years of experience of working in agricultural sector with good understanding of various aspects of legal, environmental and social issues in sustainability.
• Working experience in Gujarat or Rajasthan state would be highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong ability to work well independently, and function effectively as a member of a geographically dispersed team
• Experience in managing databases and coordinating with project teams and donor, MIS and generating high quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Strong Analytical Skills
• Takes an inquisitive and creative approach to problem-solving, can manage high volume tasks, and effectively prioritize and manage time
• Documentation skills
• Strong ability to work well independently, and function effectively as a member of a geographically dispersed team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Gujrati speaking candidate would be preferred
