Job Description

Sethu’s Speech Therapy team works with developmentally disabled children, particularly those with global developmental delays, specific language impairments, speech disfluencies, ASD and ID. Our approach is strengths-based, family-centred and neurodiversity affirming.

Role

Conduct speech and language assessments and interventions with children and parents in accordance with Sethu’s SOPs.

Evaluate the child’s and family’s needs using our family-centred approach.

Develop and implement intervention plans.

Coach and train children, families, teachers and other professionals.

Maintain timely and accurate records of clinical notes in the Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

Participate in research activities, as required.

Participate in advocacy activities – writing articles and social media posts.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's/ Master's in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology

Clinical exposure to developmental disorders involving speech, language, hearing, swallowing (experience with ASD, developmental language delay, cleft lip and palate, hearing loss, stuttering, articulation disorders, etc. are preferred).

Experience in administering test batteries for the formal evaluation of speech and language disorders.

Experience with planning therapeutic goals, documentation and report writing.

Commitment to working at Sethu for at least 2 years

Essential Skills

Fluent in English, Hindi, Konkani.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively in a team of inter-disciplinary professionals, children and families.

Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point; willing to use EHRs after training.

Must be punctual, possess integrity and a growth mindset, and be willing to adhere to Sethu’s policies and work ethic.
