About TLMTI:
The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI) is a preeminent non-governmental organization in India that has been serving persons affected by leprosy, disability, and other marginalized communities for over 150 years. Since its establishment in 1874, TLMTI has been dedicated to improving the lives of such vulnerable individuals through various initiatives, such as those focused on health, education, sustainable livelihoods, community development, advocacy and communication, research and training.
TLMTI operates 15 hospitals, 6 Vocational Training Institutes, a state-of-the-art Research Laboratory, and 5 small residential facilities (Snehalayas) that provide optimal care for elderly individuals who are disabled due to leprosy. Additionally, TLMTI sponsors community-based development projects across 9 states in India.
As part of its commitment to eradicating leprosy in the country, TLMTI also actively supports the National Leprosy Eradication Program. Through its unwavering dedication to its core values, TLMTI has established itself as a reliable partner in the effort to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assessment of Patients: Conducting regular assessments to diagnose conditions and identify impairments, pain, functional limitations, or health-related issues.
2. Diagnosis: Providing a thorough diagnosis based on medical history, reports, and tests to determine the need for physiotherapy treatment.
3. Planning Intervention Strategies: Developing treatment plans and follow-up practices tailored to the patient’s needs, and communicating these plans to both the patient and the interdisciplinary team.
4. Implementing Selected Interventions: Executing the chosen intervention strategies accurately to aid in the patient’s recovery.
Competencies
1. Physiotherapy Expertise: This includes comprehensive examination, functional impairments, disability evaluation, and functional diagnosis.
2. Communication: Effective communication with patients and other healthcare professionals is crucial.
3. Collaboration: Working as part of a healthcare team to provide patient-centered care.
4. Management: This involves managing one’s practice and also contributing to the management of healthcare services.
5. Leadership: Taking initiative and leading in professional settings.
6. Scholarship: Engaging in continuous learning and research to improve practice.
7. Professionalism: Upholding ethical standards and responsibility for one’s actions
Required Educational Background:
BPT with or without experience. MPT with teaching experience also preferred.
