Project Background 

The project titled ‘Manjari: Moving towards a child marriage free society’ under UNTRUST’s mandate to End Violence against Women” strives to create an empowering eco-system and positively impact the life of adolescent girls in Jharkhand by delaying age of marriage, ensuring their school education and linking them with skilling and employment opportunities through a comprehensive multi- sectoral approach. The project aims toward a child marriage free society where girls will have a right to choose their life partner and whether or not to marry. Strengthening the existing government system and empowering the girls and giving her a means to earn are the ways in which C3 will address the emergent issues affecting girls. The geographical target area for the project is all villages of Basia and Palkot blocks of Gumla district in Jharkhand. The project focusses equally on ending domestic violence, empowering parents of adolescent girls through livelihood and skilling support so that their income improves. 

Objective of the Assignment 

The overall purpose of assignment is to support the parents of adolescent girls belonging to socially and economically vulnerable families to enhance their income levels in coming years by providing them two units of female goat. This support will help families enhance their family income and be able to delay their girls’ marriage and continue their girls’ secondary education. 

Primary Target Group 

100 rural families of Basia and Palkot block of Gumla

Target Area 

20 villages on Basia and Palkot Block of Gumla district 

Scope of Work 

The main objective of this RFP is to supply 200 female goats across a maximum of 20 villages spread over Basia and Palkot block of Gumla district. 

Technical Specifications: 

1) Healthy female goats of local variety/breed preferably Black Bengal at productive age between 10 to         12 months and weight ranging between 8 - 10 kg. 

2) The goats must be pre - vaccinated and de-wormed. 

3)Resilience towards environmental and climatic conditions of Gumla.    

The selected agency will carry out the required task under the overall guidance of the State Head and Senior Program Officer and in coordination with the Program Officer of concerned project. The field based project team shall extend support in local coordination with the selected beneficiaries to ensure receiving of goats events by the beneficiaries. 

Transportation: Goats shall be transported by the agency to the nearest point in both the blocks where all beneficiaries will assemble to receive goats. Transportation cost will be borne by the agency. Any loss during transportation will be the responsibility of agency. 

Timeline: The required number of goats must be transported and delivered to beneficiaries on or before 10th May 2024. 

Mode of Payment

Centre for Catalyzing Change will pay the amount in two instalments (breakup is given below) upon completion of the assignment. 

Upon signing of contract - 50% of the total amount 

Upon delivery of required number of female goats in both the blocks – Remaining 50% of the payable amount.
