Position Title: Development Associate IT & GIS
Reporting to: Programme Manager
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
About Organisation:
Gujarat Mahila Housing Sewa Trust (MHT) was founded in 1994 based out of Ahmedabad with the mission of building housing and living environments for poor women and girls. MHT’s programs address basic civic and housing infrastructure needs, including water, sanitation, drainage, solid waste management, roads, electricity/energy, low-income housing and secured land tenure. MHT facilitates access to information along with financial, legal and technical services in housing, water and sanitation, and energy sectors with a focus on improving the quality of lives and livelihoods of poor women and girls.
Main Responsibilities:
• Support field team in developing work plan and effective tracking of project delivery
• Undertake regular field visit to project area to assess effective & efficient delivery of projects & provide feedback with respect to achievement, shortcomings and further development
• Prepare & share monthly, quarterly and other reports in timely manner
• Documentation of project activities including but not limited to case study, best practices etc.
• Establish & strengthen alliances with state government, NGOs and key stakeholders in consultation with Project Manager
• To actively participate in and contribute to all team processes in the state
• Actively participate in staff meeting & discussion
• Execute any other task assigned by supervisor
Essential Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Water resource planning, GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience in flood modelling or hydrology will be added advantage Strong knowledge and understanding of GIS technologies, AI algorithms, and modelling techniques.
• Experience with GIS software and tools, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. (Languages: English, Hindi, and Marathi would be added advantage)
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of flood modelling methodologies, hydrological processes, and spatial data analysis techniques.
Salary:
• Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications & experience of the candidate.
