About the Role:
We are looking for a full time Associate for Maitrayana’s Economic Justice Programme who is excited to contribute to building and implementing Maitrayana’s interventions with adolescent girls and young women in Mumbai.
This position requires an understanding about girls’ and women’s rights and the barriers that girls and women face to access (higher) education and decent work. We are looking for an energetic and pro-active colleague with the experience and creativity to work towards solutions. They should be organized, able to work with dead lines and independently as the line manager is based in Delhi. Support in Mumbai will be given by the City Coordinator Mumbai and the Learning and Innovation Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Execution of the Young People’s Initiative Economic Justice Programme for young women 18 – 25 year in Mumbai (80%)
Planning, implementing, monitoring and documenting the current
2024 – 2025 work EJP workplan
Recruitment of participants
Facilitation of sessions such as goal setting, soft- and employability skills
Mentoring and guidance of EJP participants
Manage relationships with stakeholders such as parents, schools, education department and communities in support of the EJP participants future goals
Manage relationships with NGOs, companies etc for job openings and creation of internships
Non financial agreement signing with employers/companies
Project monitoring, documentation and reporting oCo-developing the EJP programme with support from the EJP Manager and EJP Associates in Delhi and Bengaluru
Implementation of Young People’s Initiative with adolescent girls 16 – 18 years in Mumbai (20%)
Implementation of the Young People’s Initiative life skills and netball programme with adolescent girls with a focus on 16 – 18 year old participants and interns (Community Sports Coaches)
Practical support of the Mumbai team in project management activities (M&E, capacity building, peer support etc.)
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Professional qualification in Social Studies/Sociology/Social Work/ Management
1-3 years of experience in training or facilitation of sessions preferably in the development sector.
Experience in employment and entrepreneurship skills programmes, preferably with young women
Strong communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written), as well as fluency in Hindi and Marathi (at least one of them) is necessary
